11/11/12 Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras

This concert at The Klein will kick off the Greater Bridgeport Youth Orchestras’ 2012-13 season. Under the leadership of Music Director, Christopher Hisey, all five ensemble of the GBYO will perform including the Wind Ensemble, conducted by Aaron Barkon; the String Orchestra, conducted by Aaron Lofaro; the Concert Orchestra, conducted by Erican Messina; the Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Carrie Mascaro and the Principal Orchestra, conducted by Hisey. The conductors are assisted by coaches, Enkelejda Nani, Darilyn Manring, Brian Miller, Bruce Sloat, Roger Thulin, and Jennifer Trahan.

The GBYO was founded in 1961 and offers one of the finest music experiences for young musicians in the area. The members of the GBYO, students in grade 4-12 from 26 communities in Fairfield and New Haven Counties, were selected by competitive audition in August.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors. They may be purchased after 2:00 pm at the Klein on the day of the concert or by contacting GBYO Executive Director, Barb Upton, at 203-459-4249.
